Enter the Mad House

July 17, 2017

Welcome to our home, we're all a little mad here. If you've read my about page, you've got a little bit of insight into me but I would like to introduce you to my family. We are considered a large family by some standards but to us it just feels like a normal family. With four fabulous kids and two crazy writer parents, there really isn't a such thing as a normal day though.

Overall, we have a very geeky household. None of us are really into watching sports. We're more apt to watch a super hero movie instead. We're a Christian family in the midst of all of this chaos.

First the ring master, Stephen is a writer of horror and super hero/action adventure novels. He is a retired filmmaker and currently part of the horror podcast called Mortis. As you can guess, his passions are horror related things and all things geeky, especially Star Wars. He's my super hero and the best tag team partner in this fun chaos.

I'll go through the kids in the order of appearance in my life. First we have Z man, he's my comedian. He's always had the best sense of humor and the ability to create anything with his hands (legos, knex, robotics, etc). He possibly has Asperger Syndrome although the battle to even find him testing or a diagnosis has been an ongoing, crazy cycle that seems like it's never going to end. He's into video games and loves watching youtube videos. He would like to become a video game designer.

Second is Sis, my emo chick. She's a unique little fireball. Sis was born with a leg length difference and missing a toe but she has never let that hold her back, nor the three surgeries she's had near her knee to work on correcting this. She's bold and outspoken, currently with blue hair and really into her emo bands (she's the reason that the toddler knows so many Twenty One Pilots lyrics). Sis is also a phenomenal artist! She has so much talent it's crazy! She loves choir and singing and has had a few solos in the honors choir at school. Sis wants to go into the nursing field when she's older.

Third, my oldest, is my step son, Lis S. He's my band geek. He came into my life when he was ten. He's got a great talent with music and is the co-captain of the percussion section this year of marching season! He also plays the bass at church. He's quick with the dad jokes and has a great passion for politics. He's also my metal head and into all things geek. His current passion is animes. He is looking at a career in music education in the future.

Last, but certainly not least is Baby O, our little boss man. He certainly thinks he's the boss of

this house. He turned our lives upside down in the best way possible and life with him is never dull. When he was younger he was obsessed with old man things like the weather and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. And now, he has such an old vocabulary because he has picked up so much from us and his siblings. He's rocking the terrible twos at the moment and always keep us on our toes. He's my first picky eater, my first streaker, my first co-sleeper, my first hair snuggler, my first of many unique things. All of those times I used to say "my babies never did that!"...yeah, he does all of that...

So with the six of us, an old dog and two crazy cats, you can imagine that there's never a dull moment around here. It's a madhouse, but it's my madhouse. It's a circus, but it's my circus.
